Katie Spear is a Brooklyn based filmmaker and video editor with credits including Amazon Prime Video, Sundance and DOC NYC selected films. She wrote, directed, produced, and edited the short comedy film, Jade The Icon (2025), which premiered at the Big Apple Film Festival. She worked as an assistant editor on independent films, Sunfish and Other Stories on Green Lake (Dir. Sierra Falconer), a nominee for the 2025 Sundance Grand Jury Prize, and Blood Friends (Dir. Hayley Ulmer), a short documentary that premiered at DOC NYC.

 

As an editor, Spear works across formats and genres, with experience editing unscripted television, documentary and narrative films, sizzle reels, and vertical social content. Her editorial clients include Digital Cave Media, Youshaei Studios,  The Yogi Foundation,  On Air Presents, the National Endowment for the Humanities,  McGraw Hill, and Steve Ayson, a 4-time DGA nominee for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Commercials. She is currently working as an editor on an unscripted television show that will air on Amazon Prime in 2026 and is accepting new freelance clients.
